New centrality for Casinalbo

The regeneration of the former Maletti salami factory of Casinalbo is inspired by articulate, simple, feasible ideas and concepts able to trigger mechanisms where the quality of life of individuals is the one and only aim to sustain. This will require the realization of a program that lead to the creation of suitable spaces allowing opportunities for working, creative, cultural and social life.
‘Sustainability’ can’t limit itself to the new physical context, but it must go through the existential dimension of a place like this. It must be a ‘sustainability of the soul’. The real challenge is to imagine the future by comprohending first its historical roots. From here takes form a double action, aimed to define a program of functions and performances from which this city part can be reimagined.
On the other hand, to recompose new spaces and shapes of a context where old and new coexist. Work, culture, tradition, environment, ar t, research melt and integrate perfectly, in harmony with the natural environment of the park. In this new dimension, relationships and osmosis, mixtures and mergers, penetrations and separations between elements and concepts seemingly distant are developed. Old and new, natural and built, high and low, individual and community, work and leisure, are some of the many aspects that characterize this new reality. They seem diametrically opposed concepts but, according to a real view, they unite, stimulating the birth of occasions and opportunities
where human identity takes form in its deeper meanings.
